Why EV lockouts are usually electronic, not mechanical
Traditional lockouts had one cause: the key was inside and the door was locked. Electric vehicles introduced authentication. The car is looking for a credential — a phone over Bluetooth, a card over NFC, a fob over UWB — and if that conversation fails, the doors stay shut regardless of where the key physically is.
That changes the fix. Half our calls end without any entry tool at all, because the real problem was a phone in low-power mode with Bluetooth throttled, or a key card that needed to be tapped on a different spot of the B-pillar than the owner was trying. Diagnosis first is not a formality; it's usually the whole job.
